New Pay Proposals

GMB members working in councils and schools who are covered by NJC Green Book or JNC Red Book conditions will shortly be asked to vote on the new pay proposals, the details of which can be found on the GMB website at and you will need your GMB membership number to login.

The consultation will be by a secret postal ballot sent to members’ home addresses and will be conducted independently by Electoral Reform Services – it will be sent out on 31 October so if you haven’t received your voting paper by 5 November please contact your GMB office to arrange a replacement.

The democratic principle of giving members the decision-making authority is very important to GMB and that’s why we are pleased to invest in a full postal ballot. I therefore hope all members take the opportunity to exercise that authority by casting their vote.

Equally important, please mention this to your work colleagues who might not be GMB members and who would otherwise not have a say on their pay. They too can join GMB online through our website and enjoy all the benefits of GMB membership.
