Dear Chief Executive,
Since 1 April 2013 the hourly rate of SCP5 has been £6.45 per hour (£12,435 per annum). On 1 October the National Minimum Wage will increase from £6.31 per hour to £6.50.
In the absence of the NJC having yet reached a pay agreement for 2014/15, councils are advised that employees currently on SCP5 salaries of £12,435 or less should be paid in accordance with the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2014, with effect from 1 October as shown in the table below:
1 Apr 13
1 Oct 14
The uprated salary of £12,540 has been calculated by multiplying £6.50 by the local government standard working week of 37 hours and multiplied by 52.143 weeks.
This uprated figure should continue to be paid until such time as the NJC reaches a settlement on pay for 2014/15.
Yours sincerely
Fiona Farmer
